Joni Kelso and Herbie Visit the Elementary
February 24, 2005
The K-6 students at Farragut have been learning about Lewis and Clark's fantastic expedition all school year. Joni Kelso was kind enough to bring her dog, Herbie (named after the love bug), to the school. Herbie is a Newfoundland, the same breed of dog that Lewis and Clark took with them up the Missouri. Ms. Kelso told the kids facts about Seaman, the dog that Lewis Meriweather Clark bought for $20 in 1803. She also included amazing information about this fantastic breed of dog. Herbie weighs 175 pounds and is not full grown! Thanks Ms. Kelso for visiting us and sharing the joy of Herbie.
