Feeling a
little like this mouse? You need to know the Free Application
For Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms are now available outside of
the counselor's door. It is important all students fill out
these forms, as many colleges use this information to award
scholarships and provide student aid. Before a college can
issue an award letter to the students, they will request that a
FAFSA form is on file.
Here are a few hints that seniors need to be considering now:
...Apply for admission to college - immediately.
...Pick up a copy of the FAFSA form - New this year is a paper copy for when you file electronically, so you can have it filled out before you sit down to the computer. You still get can the original FAFSA to file by mail.
...If planning to file the FAFSA on-line, request a PIN number at www.pin.ed.gov. The student and parent will each need a PIN number. (You and your parent need to get the PIN number now if you do not have one.)
...Filing the FAFSA on-line will speed up the process in obtaining the financial award letter from the college.
...Attend the Financial Aid night to be held in the library at Farragut Schools on Tuesday, January 3, at 7:00 P.M. All seniors and their parents who will be filling out FAFSA forms and applying for schools and colleges need to be there.
