EDUCATIONAL TV
We now have access to Direct-TV stations as well as cable stations!
If you wish to have a program taped for use in your classroom, please let me know and I will be able to do that for you in the library office.
I have listed below some sources for you to use to access listings for the programs.
For Iowa Public Television listings:
www.iptv.org/schedule.cfm (that’s org)
Once you have the website, click on the Educational Resources link at the top of the page.
On the Educational Resources page, the yellow pencil labeled K-12 has some neat ideas and descriptions of programming.
The actual listings are in the newsletter. Click Download Latest Newsletter. The second, third and fourth pages are the actual listings.
The Advance Magazine is being shared with all of us by Tammy Johnson. If you wish to check this out, come to the library.
For A&E:
Log on at the above website. It contains complete programming information and downloadable teacher guides for over 350 A&E programs. You can also register for a FREE e-mail newsletter for the latest educational programming information.
AETV.com also offers behind-the-scenes features for all A & E original movies, interactive mini-sites for programs such as The Impressionists and the “Who Am I?” quiz game.
For The History Channel:
Log on to receive complete programming information, downloadable teacher guides for over 400 programs from the History Channel, and to register for our FREE monthly e-mail newsletter for the latest educational programming information. History.com also includes This Day in History, a speech archive, a searchable historical database and interactive mini-series covering a variety of historical events.
