Library Procedures and Policies
Mission Statement for the Library

Mission Statement: To promote life-long reading and learning.
To have a successful and enjoyable visit: Please follow these rules.
1. When students report to the Library, they must show their planners signed by the teacher sending them.
2. No food or drink is allowed in the Library.
3. To ensure a study atmosphere, please visit with others outside the Library.
4. Mrs. Sanders supervises the Library and may limit or deny privileges to students who are disruptive.
5. Computers in the Library are for research and writing only. No games will be played on these computers.
Procedures:
1. Students 7-12 are not limited in the number of materials they may check out. Limits for K-6 students are listed below.
2. Book check out is for two weeks.
3. Books may be put on hold at the student's request.
4. Books may be renewed if no one has requested them.
Overdues and Lost Books:
1. Fines for overdue materials are 10 cents per day. (K-6 students are not charged fines.)
2. Lost materials are charged at replacement cost.
3. Lost Bar Code labels are $1.00 each.
4. Students who do not pay fines may be unable to check out books.
Elementary students are expected to follow all the rules stated above.
Book limits:
K One book or video
1-2 One book/one video or two books
3 Two books and one video
4-6 Three books and one video
If K-6 students have overdue books, no books may be checked out until the overdue materials are returned.
