Seniors - 2008
Seniors! If you have narrowed your college selections down to one or two, you need to know most of the schools have scholarships for the school and there is often specific scholarships for your area of interest. Please contact Mrs. Slavik to find out more.
 Farragut Alumni

This year the Farragut Alumni is offering two scholarships in the amount of $350. Applications are available in Mrs. Slavik's office. | 4/30/08 |
| Tom Arnold Scholarship | For students planning on attending
Indian Hills Community College. There are two full
scholarships covering the cost of fees, books, and room and board.
Applicant must write an essay entitled "What is your idea of

| Stoney Point/Shenandoah Optimist Scholarship | Application form available from counselor. You need two letters of recommendations. Must have 2.8 GPA. | 4/25/08 |
| Audrey Buck Memorial Scholarship | Scholarship is available for a female student who has a financial need and desires to continue her education. Applications are available outside Mrs. Slavik’s office. | 5/20/08 |
| Corner Conference Scholarship | Corner Conference Scholarship is now available outside Mrs. Slavik’s office | 4/30/08 |
| Burkhart Scholarship Iowa PGA |
High school transcript. Two recommendations – one from a high school administrator or teacher and second from the PGA professional at the applicant’s home course, or course where PGA professional is employed and applicant must include a self-statement concerning his/her interest in golf, other activities and awards, his/her educational and vocational plans and financial needs. Applications available in Mrs. Slavik’s office. |

| George Jay Memorial Trust | Students may apply for a maximum of $1400 per school year and $400 for summer year. Interest rate is 3 %. and repayment shall begin 12 months after leaving school . Applications are available in Mrs. Slavik's office. | |
| Iowa Federation of Republican Women | Several scholarships are available
sponsored by the Iowa Federation of Republican Women. Go to

| Burger King | $1,000 scholarship - GPA of 2.5 or higher, work 15 hours per week, 40 weeks per year, community service, financial need. May apply online at www.bk.com/scholars beginning October 15. | |
| Pearl Hull Falk Scholarship | Must be of Protestant faith, a resident of Iowa and attend the University of Iowa. Applications available in Mrs. Slavik's office. | 5/1/2008 |
| Brian Pearson Memorial Scholarship | Juniors only and have participated
in Iowa Sports Foundation events. Applications available in Mrs. Slavik's office. |
