Mission Statement

FCSD is committed to building a solid foundation for our children’s future.

 

District Belief Statements

ü      Students have the right and responsibility to learn.

ü      Parents have a right and responsibility to be actively involved with their child’s education.

ü      Education must be student focused.

ü      Students deserve the highest quality education.

ü      Students must adapt to a changing world.

ü      Learning is a lifelong process that prepares children to function successfully in an increasingly complex society.

Upon graduation, all Farragut Community School students will be…

1.        knowledgeable persons able to understand and apply basic mathematical functions and principles.

2.        knowledgeable persons able to understand and apply principles, concepts, language, and functions of the natural sciences.

3.        knowledgeable persons able to understand and apply concepts relative to the social sciences (history, geography, government, and the economy of the United States and other countries).

4.        communicators able to clearly express ideas through writing, speaking, and non-verbal mediums such as technology.

5.        communicators able to listen thoughtfully to ideas, opinions, and concepts of others.

6.        communicators able to establish a rapport with individuals and audiences they are communicating with.

7.        self-directed learners able to demonstrate the pursuit of excellence through self-motivation and a positive attitude.

8.        self-directed learners able to set priorities, establish goals, organize procedures, and complete tasks.

9.        self-directed learners able to support facts and opinions with information obtained through research.
