Provides a 7 minute video on how to search the site effectively. Example: Dream House. Students use scale drawings to solve real world problems involving perimeter and area. NEA is a co-sponsor of this project.

www.lexile.com     find the lexile level of any text or tradebook by title, or type in some text and lexile level will be displayed

 

NOTE:  To find the lexile of written documents, worksheets, etc. use Microsoft Word.

1.  After you have loaded the document, click on the Tools menu, click Options.

2.  Click on the Spelling and Grammar tab.  In the Grammar section, select the Check grammar with spelling check box.  Below that select the Show readability statistics check box.  Click Ok.

3.  On the Standard toolbar, click the Spelling and Grammar button.

4.  If necessary, make spelling and grammar changes.  Examine the Readability Statistics dialog box.  This will tell you the lexile level.

5.  Click to close.
